Starting Your Journey

The Scavenger Hunt in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is an optional side quest, so it's not something that players have to complete in order to progress through the main storyline. However, diving into the hunt will give you access to some of the best secrets in the game.

To begin Jane’s Scavenger Hunt, you’ll need to first complete the prologue mission. After this, you’ll encounter Jane’s first clue during a routine operation. You'll be tasked with finding a seemingly innocuous object hidden within the environment. At first, it will feel like just another collectible, but once you pick it up, Jane’s scavenger hunt officially begins.

Clue 1: The Red Journal

The first clue is a red journal found in the abandoned lab during the mission titled “Into the Shadows.” The journal contains a cryptic message: "Find the place where shadows breathe." This riddle is the key to advancing the hunt, but at first glance, it seems obscure.

To solve this clue, you’ll need to pay attention to your environment. The “place where shadows breathe” refers to a specific location in the level where light and darkness intermingle. If you look closely, you'll notice an area where the light flickers and casts long, shifting shadows — this is where you'll find the next object in the scavenger hunt.

Once you find the location, you'll uncover an artifact hidden under a pile of debris. The item is a small metallic token that seems out of place in the lab. Picking it up will trigger Jane’s next message, which will appear in your logbook.

What’s Next?

Now that you’ve found the first clue, the scavenger hunt will escalate in difficulty. In subsequent levels, you’ll have to solve more complex puzzles and explore every corner of the environment to uncover Jane’s hidden artifacts.

Remember: these objects aren’t always in plain sight. Sometimes, they’re hidden in hard-to-reach locations, or you may need to perform specific actions to unlock them. For example, in later stages, you might need to interact with certain environmental elements like levers or switches that open up hidden compartments or access restricted areas.

In the next blog, we’ll explore how to decode Jane’s more advanced clues and how to solve some of the trickier puzzles that will test your skills as a player.
